One of the things I love about being a photographer is that it’s a constant learning process. Every time I pick up a camera I discover something new. For that reason (and because it’s so much fun) I try to organise a test shoot at least every couple of months. Last summer I shot this bridal editorial shoot at Camber Sands in East Sussex.
Camber is a stunning set of sand dunes near the village of Rye in East Sussex. It has been used as a location for countless photo and film shoots including an iconic fashion shoot with Kate Moss for The Face in 1990, and more recently a used as a location for the film The Monuments Men in 2013.
Itching to try out my new Contax 645 which is one of the highest regarded film negative cameras in the business I headed to Camber with art director and stylist Lisa Nicalou, Hair and Make-Up artist Hanna Sorcha and the amazing model Emelie.
The light was absolutely beautiful, particularly as the sun started to set over the famous Camber Sands Dunes. Hard to believe from these pictures but half way through the shoot the heavens opened and soaked us all – but it was worth it!
